Software Engineer (.NET / React)

Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• Commercial experience with C# / .NET (Core or later)
• Frontend development using React
• REST API design and development
• Database development and interaction using SQL Server or similar
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
• Strong practical problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working within a small development team
• Willingness to ask questions, investigate problems and propose solutions
• Comfortable working directly with stakeholders rather than relying solely on detailed technical specifications
• Must currently be based in Dorset
• Must be able to regularly attend the office as part of a hybrid working arrangement
• Must be available to start within approximately 4 weeks
• UK right to work required

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable web applications using .NET and React
• Build APIs and backend services supporting live operational platforms
• Develop features across vehicle, parts, transport, recycling and waste management systems
• Investigate technical and operational problems and propose practical solutions
• Work directly with stakeholders and end users to understand requirements
• Improve the performance, reliability and usability of existing systems
• Integrate with third-party systems, APIs and automotive data providers
• Work with large and sometimes complex operational datasets
• Participate in code reviews and maintain development standards
• Assist with deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting within Azure infrastructure
• Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted development where appropriate
• Contribute ideas for new features, architecture and product improvements
