Responsibilities:

• Act as the key point of contact for technical and software architecture
• Make critical design decisions and ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and built for the long term
• Define and design software solutions with a focus on stability, scalability, maintainability, and performance
• Develop architectural views and define how software components interact
• Ensure solutions align with the longer-term technical strategy and wider architecture
• Support solutions throughout construction and work closely with development teams
• Provide technical direction and guidance to architects, developers, and managers
• Champion architectural standards and ensure teams adhere to agreed designs
• Maintain key architectural documentation and communicate changes effectively
• Help build and develop an effective software engineering team
• Work within Agile environments and contribute throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Balance technical decisions with wider business and strategic requirements
• Get hands-on when needed

We are recruiting for a Senior Technical Architect - Cloud & Microservices to join a major technology programme, working at the heart of the architecture and design function. This is a 6-month rolling contract paying £620 per day inside IR35. The role is hybrid based in Telford, requiring on-site attendance two times a week. Candidates must be willing and eligible to go through BPSS clearance for the role. We are looking for someone who can operate at architectural level while still being hands-on when required, bringing curiosity, creativity, and a problem-solving mindset to support delivery across a major technology programme.
