Senior Network Security Engineer

Salary: £47,000 - 82,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced 3rd Line Network Engineer, Network & Infrastructure Engineer, or Network Support Engineer, ideally from an MSP or service provider environment.
• We need strong networking fundamentals and confidence troubleshooting across firewalls, switches, routing, VLANs, VPNs, wireless, DNS/DHCP, and internet connectivity.
• We are particularly interested in people who have gone beyond support and have delivered network changes and projects themselves, such as firewall migrations, network refreshes, office moves, new site deployments, wireless upgrades, SD-WAN, or connectivity migrations.
• We need someone comfortable dealing directly with customers, explaining technical issues clearly, and taking ownership through to resolution.
• Recent MSP, service provider, or multi-customer experience is important.
• We need a full UK driving licence for customer-site work.

Responsibilities:

• We handle complex 3rd line network escalations and see issues through to resolution.
• We work across LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, wireless, connectivity, and SD-WAN in a multi-customer MSP environment.
• We troubleshoot firewall, routing, connectivity, DNS/DHCP, and wireless issues.
• We deliver network changes and projects, including firewall replacements, network refreshes, connectivity migrations, wireless deployments, office moves, and SD-WAN work.
• We plan network changes, assess existing environments, document required changes, and produce implementation, rollback, and handover documentation.
• We work with ISPs and connectivity providers on leased lines, broadband, failover, and related connectivity issues.
• We travel to customer sites across the North West as required.

We are an established MSP/MSSP offering a varied network engineering role that combines complex troubleshooting with hands-on project delivery. The position is based around Manchester / Warrington with one day a week from home, and includes travel to customer sites across the North West as required. We offer a salary of £43,000-£49,000, 24 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, paid parking, phone allowance, and funded training and certifications.
