Job Description

Salary: £75,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a senior or lead software engineer in a modern SaaS, MarTech, or data-driven environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Java (Spring Framework) is essential.
  • Frontend experience with React and TypeScript, or similar modern frameworks, is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and build high-performing, collaborative teams.
  • Experience leading in an agile, cloud-native environment, including Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, or AWS.
  • Solid understanding of software design principles, testing practises, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Comfortable influencing without authority and aligning technical decisions with business goals.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Product and Data teams.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example by delivering high-quality, maintainable code that supports our platform and customers at scale.
  • Set the technical direction for our squad, empowering the team to make sound engineering decisions and continuously improve.
  • Coach and mentor engineers through regular one-to-ones, technical reviews, and development plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Product to turn ideas into technically achievable and scalable solutions.
  • Partner with the Data team to ensure new features generate meaningful insights and measurable outcomes.
  • Take ownership of performance, scalability, reliability, and security throughout the design and development process.
  • Monitor delivery performance and look for opportunities to reduce cycle times and improve deployment frequency while maintaining code quality.
  • Contribute to platform modernisation by participating in architecture discussions and helping define best practises.
  • Introduce curiosity and innovation by recommending new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support recruitment efforts by reviewing technical assessments, interviewing candidates, and helping foster a strong, diverse engineering team.
