Salary: £95,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Experience working as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or a similar role supporting technology-enabled change.
  • Experience gathering, analysing and documenting business or user needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity and incomplete information, identifying assumptions, gaps and areas requiring further investigation.
  • Ability to analyse and document end-to-end business processes, system interactions and enterprise workflows.
  • Experience contributing analysis, evidence or options to business cases and investment decisions.
  • Ability to support the definition and management of scope, identifying where requirements or proposed changes fall outside agreed boundaries.
  • Ability to distil complex information into high-level, understandable concepts and business language.
  • Ability to model or explain business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills adapted to different audiences.
  • Ability to build effective relationships and facilitate constructive conversations with stakeholders from different business and technical backgrounds.
  • Experience asking constructive questions, testing assumptions and distinguishing underlying business needs from proposed solutions.
  • Ability to organise analysis activities, manage priorities and raise risks or uncertainties appropriately.

  • SQL or equivalent data-querying experience.

  • Understanding of non-functional requirements including security, privacy, accessibility and operational support.
  • Experience or knowledge in any of the following is advantageous: Power BI, Tableau or similar analytics and visualisation platforms; enterprise applications, SaaS platforms or cloud-based solutions; Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Dataverse or equivalent technology platforms; data governance, metadata, lineage or master-data concepts; API specifications and integration design patterns; BPMN, UML or other modelling approaches; Lean or Lean Six Sigma; workflow automation, process automation or orchestration platforms; AI, automation or analytics in business analysis; sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues or contributing to a professional community; relevant professional qualifications or structured learning in business analysis such as BCS, IIBA or equivalent; developing and contributing to proportionate business cases; working across multiple pieces of work concurrently and managing competing demands.
Responsibilities:
  • Investigate business problems and opportunities by considering people, processes, technology, information and data.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business objectives, define outcomes and establish measures of success.
  • Elicit, analyse, document and validate business, functional, technical and data requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process models and solution requirements.
  • Support solution design, delivery, testing and business acceptance activities.
  • Clarify and refine requirements throughout delivery as new information emerges.
  • Support prioritisation decisions and help stakeholders balance scope, value and delivery constraints.
  • Evaluate delivered solutions against agreed business outcomes and success measures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of analysis practices, standards and reusable artefacts.
  • Assess business, operational and technical impacts of proposed changes, ensuring stakeholders understand implications, dependencies and risks.
  • Analyse system interactions, integrations, APIs, interfaces and end-to-end solution flows.
  • Document current-state and future-state processes, systems, data flows and user interactions.
  • Define and document functional and non-functional requirements, including security, privacy, accessibility, operational support and performance considerations.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers and technical specialists to ensure requirements are understood and delivered effectively.
  • Support data discovery activities to identify and understand relevant data sources.
  • Analyse data to validate assumptions, identify trends, investigate issues and support decision-making.
  • Use evidence and data insights to challenge assumptions, validate business requirements and support solution design decisions.
  • Define reporting, information and analytical requirements to support business outcomes.
  • Understand and document data flows, mappings, ownership and data quality considerations.
