Engineer I, Workplace Technology

Salary: £45,000 - 83,000 per year

Requirements:

• Typically 2–3+ years of experience in an IT Engineering or similar technical role.
• Experience with Identity Providers such as Okta and Azure AD, and protocols like SAML and SCIM.
• High-level experience managing the Atlassian suite, including complex Jira configurations, workflow customisations, and permission schemes.
• A logical approach to troubleshooting and the ability to articulate technical trade-offs between different solutions.
• A proactive owner-operator mindset with responsibility for the long-term health of the systems we manage.
• Ability to communicate effectively with company stakeholders and resolve complex support queries within our area of focus.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with temporary workarounds and long-term architectural solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Independently design and deliver project-level work with minimal guidance from senior engineers.
• Act as a subject matter expert for our Workplace Technology stack, with a focus on high-level administration and optimisation of Jira and Confluence.
• Provide advanced technical support and policy management for macOS and Windows endpoints using Jamf and Microsoft Intune.
• Provide advanced operational support on team-owned services and train new members on service design, security, and operations.
• Triage and support complex incidents with urgency and accountability.
• Support and mentor less experienced engineers to raise the technical quality of the team.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and suggest automated solutions using Python or PowerShell to reduce incidental complexity.
