Senior Platform Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• Good working knowledge of AWS services including ECS, EC2, Lambda, VPC, IAM, Route53, CloudFront, S3, and RDS
• Good understanding of monitoring and logging solutions; experience with OpenTelemetry, AWS Cloudwatch, and SigNoz is a bonus
• Basic SRE knowledge, and experience with alerting and incident management platforms such as incident.io and PagerDuty
• Proven ability to provide and support strong and scalable CI/CD pipelines
• Strong Linux, Git, Docker, and scripting skills in Python, bash, or Go
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language
• Good experience defining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Knowledge and comfort with Agile development practices
• Strong appetite for learning and self-improvement
• Passion for developer experience and enthusiasm for Platform Engineering as a discipline
• Previous experience in fintech is a bonus

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement high quality infrastructure as code templates and modules, and empower software engineers to use them for their projects
• Implement AWS multi-account core infrastructure and ensure security best practices are used across the cloud estate
• Author CI/CD templates and optimisations to help engineers release as early and often as possible
• Design and implement a developer portal to provide a service catalog to the engineering team, and author other useful DevOps plugins
• Contribute to observability best practices and provide key SLI/SLO metric reporting so the engineering team can balance velocity and reliability
• Develop inner and open source projects to help provide a world-class developer experience to the engineering team
