Senior Business Intelligence Analyst
Job Description
Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year
Requirements:- We require education to degree level or equivalent.
- We require a relevant Masters degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
- We require significant experience in an information analysis role.
- We require experience of working with relational databases.
- We require experience of using query tool functionality.
- We require in-depth specialist knowledge of information analysis and its use in support of business objectives.
- We require the ability to interrogate databases.
- We require the ability to interpret complex data and convert it into management information.
- We require the ability to independently interpret information users requirements and present detailed, complex reports for a wide audience.
- We require an understanding of data quality issues and how these relate to the organisation as a whole.
- We require strong SQL or equivalent skills.
- We require intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills.
- We require the ability to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines.
- We require the ability to take responsibility for our own workload.
- We require the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
- We require excellent oral and written communication skills.
- We require the ability to communicate on complex and multi-stranded issues.
- We require the ability to train other information staff in the use of information systems and analytical tools.

- We require staff to treat other staff members and patients with respect.
- Desirable: experience in an NHS informatics role or other healthcare information environment.
- Desirable: experience of using Power BI.
- Desirable: experience of using Epic, including its BI stack, developing Radar, Slicer Dicer and Reporting Workbench contents.
- Desirable: membership of a relevant professional organisation such as AphA, BCS or DAMA.
- Desirable: intermediate use of Power BI.
- Desirable: understanding of income algorithms and financial planning in the NHS.
- Desirable: understanding of the use of clinical terms and codes within the NHS.
- Desirable: understanding of information governance, patient data security and confidentiality.
- We provide accurate, timely and complex analytical support to the Board.
- We turn data into meaningful information that supports quality, access standards, productivity, activity, income and research decision-making.
- We communicate analytical products to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences.
- We work closely with Business Intelligence Partners.
- We work autonomously and with minimal supervision where required.
- We manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- We meet agreed deadlines.
- We independently interpret the requirements of information users.
- We present detailed, complex reports that can be understood by a wide audience.
- We train other information staff in the use of information systems and analytical tools.
