Equities Technology Java Developer VP

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Significant years of working knowledge of Java
• Perl/Shell scripting experience
• Ability to work to tight deadlines as part of a team
• Ability to work with floor traders, production support, and others in diagnosing and troubleshooting real-world issues
• Ability to work effectively as part of a larger team and communicate at an appropriate level depending on the people involved
• Good understanding of network protocols, including Multicast and TCP/IP
• Low latency market data skills are beneficial
• C++ experience is a plus
• Experience with algorithmic trading and electronic trading business or technology is beneficial, but not essential
• Working experience of microservices architecture is a big plus
• Experience working in the finance industry is beneficial, but not essential
• Sound programming approach with unit testing, code reviews, and agile methodology
• Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, GIT, and uDeploy is beneficial
• Knowledge of low latency, network concurrency, multicast, and server configuration is useful
• Configuration experience with 10GB network interfaces such as SolarFlare using OnLoad is useful
• Knowledge of equities products such as stock, futures, options, and swaps is beneficial
• Knowledge of developing database code and processes in KDB is beneficial

Responsibilities:

• Develop our Global Market Data platform to meet the requirements of our Global Equities business
• Support deployed market data systems in conjunction with our Equities Production Support teams
• Implement and enhance new or altered systems
• Work with a business group committed to technology and receiving low latency market data
• Design and develop our Global Market Data platform in EMEA
• Design and develop system functionality
• Coordinate exchange mandatory changes as they pertain to our Global Market Data platform
• Improve application functionality driven primarily by our Electronic Trading Desk
• Support existing Market Data applications and clients
• Develop new functionality for our Global Market Data platform on an ongoing basis
• Learn about our Equity Trading business
