Data/AI Engineer, Engineering AI & Data

Salary: £95,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Data Developer, Data Engineer, AI Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and/or similar languages.
• Experience building data pipelines and working with structured and unstructured data.
• Familiarity with Generative AI and/or machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Langchain is desirable.
• Experience with cloud data platforms, data warehouses, or big data technologies is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
• Eligibility for and successful obtaining of UK Security Check (SC) security clearance.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, datasets, and data models to support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.
• Develop and implement AI and machine learning models where appropriate, supporting use cases such as prediction, classification, automation, and insight generation.
• Develop generative AI-enabled solutions using large language models and context/prompt engineering.
• Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Data Analysts, and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Implement testing, validation, and monitoring to ensure data accuracy, model performance, and solution reliability.
• Optimise data processing, storage, and model performance for scalability and efficiency.
• Produce clear technical documentation covering data models, pipelines, logic, and assumptions.
• Adhere to data governance, security, and privacy standards throughout the development lifecycle.
