• Proven experience as a Data Architect delivering Azure-based data platforms
• Strong background designing enterprise-scale data warehouse and analytics solutions
• Extensive experience with Azure SQL
• Extensive experience with Azure Data Factory
• Extensive experience with Power BI
• Extensive experience with Azure DevOps
• Experience delivering greenfield data platform implementations
• Strong understanding of dimensional modelling and modern data warehouse design
• Experience developing scalable, secure and maintainable cloud architectures
• Expertise establishing CI/CD and DevOps practices for data platforms
• Strong stakeholder management and requirements gathering skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments
• Data governance and data quality frameworks
• Azure security and access control architecture
• Consultancy, technology consulting or professional services experience
• Experience within highly regulated environments
• Current UK Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility to obtain clearance
• Microsoft Azure certifications, including Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Data Engineer Associate

Responsibilities:

• Leading the architecture and delivery of a new Azure-based data warehouse platform
• Reviewing, challenging and enhancing existing high-level solution designs
• Collaborating with engineering teams to produce detailed technical designs
• Defining architecture standards, best practices and long-term technology roadmaps
• Providing hands-on technical leadership throughout delivery
• Working alongside Data Engineers to build production-ready solutions
• Reviewing code, designs and technical deliverables to ensure quality and consistency
• Driving architectural decisions across security, governance, scalability and performance
• Engaging with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Supporting deployment, release management and CI/CD processes within Azure DevOps
• Promoting modern engineering practices across data, cloud and DevOps teams

We are partnering with a growing consultancy undertaking a major transformation programme and seeking a hands-on Azure Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of a modern Azure Data Warehouse solution. This is a highly visible role where you will influence architecture strategy, drive technical decisions, and work closely with engineering teams to deliver a scalable, secure and future-proof data platform. The role is remote first and UK-based only, with ad hoc meetings in South Wales/Southwest. The day rate is £575.00 - £625.00, initially for 3 months with likely extension. The interview process is one stage via MS Teams, and the ideal start date is end of September. We operate in a hands-on environment where architecture is closely aligned with delivery, and we value modern engineering practices across data, cloud and DevOps teams.
