Job Description

Salary: £68,000 - 108,000 per year

Requirements:
  • PhD or Master in materials science, chemistry, mathematics, computer science, or related fields.
  • Practical experience with deep learning and machine learning algorithms and the use of popular AI/ML frameworks.
  • Experience in coding (web, cloud, algorithms, industry processes).
  • Experience with modern development techniques and environments (agile, web, cloud) is an asset.
  • Industry experience working on AI-related projects, preferably in the materials domain, is an asset.
  • Experience working as part of and with geographically dispersed teams; leadership experience is also welcome.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
Responsibilities:
  • We develop software for a Gen7 virtual assistant that is an expert in materials science.
  • We develop software for generative material and chemistry projects representing Gen7 virtual twins of materials, molecules, and reactions.
  • We contribute to creating and validating project plans for the materials AI team that will deliver the roadmap.
  • We coordinate with QA to ensure new and existing functionality has appropriate automated test coverage.
  • We work with the documentation team to document new features and improvements.
  • We act as technical experts on Materials AI and its supporting technologies, answering questions from customers and internal stakeholders.
  • We regularly present our work to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • We keep up to date with relevant tools, technologies, and processes, and seek opportunities to introduce them into the team.
  • We contribute to fostering a culture of openness, innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
