Job Description

Salary: £48,000 - 88,000 per year

Requirements:
  • University degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Control Engineering, Applied Physics or a related field.
  • Formal software development experience within Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, or a similar embedded software development environment.
  • Fluent in C for safety-critical embedded applications and familiar with MISRA C guidelines.
  • Experience with fixed-point and floating-point arithmetic.
  • Experience with 32-bit CPU/FPU, interrupts, peripherals, and real-time programming.
  • Understanding of compilers, linkers, makefiles, software builds, and CI build automation systems.
  • Experience working with Vector tools such as VFlash, CANalyzer, and CanoE.
  • Experience with device drivers, BSW, RTE, and ASW layer code development in AUTOSAR systems, particularly with Vector MICROSAR and the DaVinci toolchain.
  • Experience in MATLAB and Simulink model development, including C code generation and integration, is desirable.
  • Experience using test tools for unit testing, SIL testing, and HIL testing is desirable.
  • Experience writing and reviewing software requirements is desirable.
  • System-level understanding of power electronics, DC and AC motors, motor controllers, power conversion, power storage, signal conditioning, and digital communication is desirable.
  • Appreciation of ISO 26262, including the ASIL risk classification scheme, is desirable.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain embedded software for prototype and production systems in line with OEM and international standards.
  • Develop and maintain library blocks to enable reuse of our intellectual property across multiple products.
  • Support customer integration, including on-site support for parametrisation, calibration, troubleshooting, and correction of existing code.
  • Verify, validate, and test developed software solutions for assigned projects.
  • Work within an agile team environment with flexibility and self-management to complete tasks.
  • Follow processes correctly while helping the team identify and improve development and testing processes where possible.
