Research Operations Lead

Salary: £99,000 - 121,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience working with procurement, legal, finance, and vendor management processes
• Experience managing budgets and tracking costs in line with a financial calendar
• Experience supporting research operations, test environments, consent, NDAs, safeguarding, risk assessments, and GDPR compliance
• Experience overseeing physical research spaces and research technology infrastructure
• Ability to work in a hybrid model in Central London, 3 days on site
• Available for a contract running from October 2026 to May 2027

Responsibilities:

• We establish and manage relationships with global vendors and external agencies
• We work with procurement, legal, and finance teams to organize budgets, Statements of Work, onboarding, purchase orders, consent forms, NDAs, and GDPR requirements
• We take ownership of in-house research operations for global kids testing programs
• We work with recruitment vendors, set up test environments, and organise incentives
• We manage operational requirements including consent, NDAs, safeguarding, risk assessments, and GDPR compliance
• We spearhead team budgeting, set and manage budgets, and ensure internal deliverables are met in line with our financial calendar
• We serve as the first point of contact for budget tracking and cost questions
• We manage and maintain our physical spaces and optimize our research labs
• We oversee maintenance of audio-visual technology, microphones, and cameras in our kids testing space
• We steward our research technology stack to ensure tools are adopted, correctly configured, and safe by default
• We participate in cross-functional data privacy working groups to maintain rigorous standards and ensure policy adherence

We are offering a maternity cover contract for a Research Operations Manager role from October 2026 to May 2027 on an inside IR35 day-rate basis. The role is hybrid, with three days on site in Central London. You will report to and work alongside the Head of ERT, partnering closely with finance, procurement, agency partners, and our CPL Operations and Data Privacy team to support operational excellence and reduce the administrative burden on researchers so they can focus on planning, running, and synthesising research.
