Senior Software Developer

Salary: £46,000 - 86,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require 8+ years of experience designing and developing scalable enterprise-level back-end solutions.
• We require a BS/MS degree in Computer Science or another highly technical subject where programming was a key requirement.
• We require professional software development experience using modern programming languages such as Java or Python.
• We require familiarity with architecture, design, development, and deployment of large-scale enterprise systems.
• We require understanding of security concepts such as OAuth and the ability to build reliable, safe applications.
• We require knowledge of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations.
• We require experience working with relational databases, including development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• We require understanding and hands-on experience with API-driven designs focused on testable and scalable implementations.
• We require experience across multiple technology stacks, including cloud development, platforms, web development, frameworks, or service-oriented architecture.
• We require experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• We require experience with event-driven architecture and messaging brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• We require strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• We require experience working in a global environment across multiple time zones and geographies.
• We value exposure to Salesforce or a similar large CRM system.
• We value familiarity with API-first development and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
• We value experience with integrations and the ability to get up to speed with multiple third-party products and their APIs and environments.

Responsibilities:

• We collaborate with cross-functional teams across product, design, operations, and infrastructure to build innovative application experiences.
• We develop reusable software components for interfacing with other back-end platforms.
• We analyze and optimize code for quality, efficiency, and performance.
• We lead complex technical or product efforts and provide technical guidance to peers.
• We architect efficient and scalable systems that support complex applications.
• We identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.
• We establish ownership of components, features, or systems with expert end-to-end understanding.
• We work on billing and commerce problems such as customer hierarchy modeling, subscription lifecycle management, consumption-based billing, tax integrations, payment integrations, and billing event processing.
