Senior DevOps Platform Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £58,000 - 98,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong commercial experience working as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
- Extensive hands-on AWS experience, including VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS/EKS, and networking services
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
- Strong Kubernetes experience, including EKS, Helm, RBAC, networking, and container management
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of Linux systems administration and cloud infrastructure
- Experience with containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or similar
- Strong scripting ability using languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell
- Understanding of cloud security principles including IAM, encryption, vulnerability management, and compliance controls
- Experience working within regulated industries such as financial services, government, or healthcare
- Experience with GitOps practices and tools such as ArgoCD
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies including Istio or similar
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, New Relic, Splunk, or ELK
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments across AWS, Azure, GCP, or private cloud
- Experience with security tooling including Vault, SonarQube, OWASP, Checkov, or vulnerability scanning solutions
- Experience supporting highly available, business-critical platforms
- Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS environments
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, and automation frameworks
- Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitOps methodologies
- Manage Kubernetes platforms including EKS, container orchestration, Helm deployments, and cluster optimisation
- Support application containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes-based architectures
- Implement GitOps delivery models using tools such as ArgoCD and Helm
- Develop reusable automation frameworks for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployments
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, and security through automation and engineering best practices
- Support cloud migrations from traditional data centre environments into modern cloud-native platforms
- Implement monitoring, observability, and logging solutions across complex distributed systems
- Work closely with development, security, and architecture teams to improve software delivery processes
