Salary: £60,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience at Staff, Principal, or Architect level
  • Ownership in platform infrastructure, developer productivity, CI/CD, build systems, or workflow automation, including work across globally distributed teams and systems
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Git, including workflows, branching strategies, and release management
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline design, scaling, and reliability
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Docker containers for reproducible build and test execution
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of build systems, with BitBake or Yocto preferred
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Jira for workflow design, automation, and cross-team visibility
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of test management systems such as TestRail or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience delivering automation at scale, including building platforms or components used by multiple teams
  • Strong systems thinking across security, reliability, performance, and cost tradeoffs
  • Excellent written communication skills, including architecture docs, decision records, and operating procedures
  • Experience building AI-assisted developer tooling
  • Experience implementing evaluation and monitoring for AI systems
  • Extensive experience with software development on embedded Linux, multi-process architectures, and IPC mechanisms
  • Experience working in large cross-functional teams and influencing teams that do not report to you
  • Ability to see the big picture while staying focused on short-term objectives and deliverables
  • Ability to multitask and drive parallel projects and distributed teams with tight deadlines
Responsibilities:
  • Define and lead an AI-first automation roadmap for Engineering Infrastructure and Enterprise Tooling
  • Architect and ship AI and LLM-enabled workflow automation across the SDLC
  • Establish policies and guardrails for AI usage in internal tools, including data handling, logging, model selection, evaluation, fallback behavior, and abuse prevention
  • Set technical direction and standards for globally used developer tools, including build systems, source code management, branching and release strategy, and self-service support tools
  • Architect and evolve CI/CD and build/test pipelines using Jenkins, Docker, and build systems to support multi-site engineering environments
  • Own and scale test and quality workflows using test management systems, enabling traceability, reporting, and release sign-off across distributed teams
  • Drive Jira workflow design and automation to provide consistent cross-org visibility and execution
  • Design and implement automation spanning Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Partners
  • Replace manual coordination with durable automation and integrations across regions and time zones
  • Embed secure-by-default controls into pipelines and tooling, including access control, secrets handling, audit trails, and policy enforcement
  • Improve build and test performance and reliability using measurable KPIs and operational rigor
  • Drive cost efficiencies across tooling and infrastructure, including compute utilization, caching strategies, license rationalization, and ROI tracking
  • Own cross-team architectures and standards, and drive adoption through influence and sustained multi-quarter execution
  • Lead design reviews, mentor senior engineers, and unblock complex technical problems across distributed teams and systems
  • Provide long-term stewardship through roadmaps, runbooks, SLOs, and incident and postmortem practices for 24/7 global operations
