Embedded Linux Software Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience developing for embedded Linux systems, with in-depth knowledge of system architecture design
• Experience developing commercial object-oriented applications using a C-like language, ideally C++ or C#
• Experience developing for resource-constrained embedded platforms
• Experience developing large-scale applications using Git version control
• Experience developing GUI applications for embedded Linux systems
• A strong appreciation of the hardware environment our software runs within
• Professional experience developing applications in C#
• Development within the Debian ecosystem, including CI/CD
• Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience developing for HMI-based systems
• Demonstrable knowledge of XAML/WPF development using the MVVM pattern
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as SAFe
• Knowledge of machine-to-machine communication protocols and technologies (e.g. Fieldbus, industrial Ethernet protocols, MQTT)

• Design and develop software for embedded systems
• Work closely with hardware and firmware teams to deliver reliable, well-architected solutions
• Help shape system architecture
• Develop robust, high-quality software for real-world hardware applications
• Contribute to low-level embedded development within a collaborative, technically-driven environment
