Senior IT Technician
Job Description
Salary: £25,000 - 65,000 per year
Requirements:- We require experience providing 2nd line IT support in a multi-site or complex environment.
- We require experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.
- We require experience managing relationships with third-party suppliers and MSPs.
- We require experience with networking fundamentals including switches, Wi-Fi and firewalls.
- We require experience with Windows desktop and server environments.
- We prefer experience in hospitality, leisure or membership organisations.
- We prefer experience with SQL, Power BI and Power Automate.
- We prefer experience with access control, CCTV, telephony or payment systems.
- We prefer relevant Microsoft or industry certifications.
- We prefer experience within a fitness or leisure space.
- We require strong understanding of computer systems, hardware, software, networks and telecommunications.
- We require strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- We require strong knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- We require strong knowledge of SQL.
- We require highly developed technical specification writing skills.
- We require the ability to communicate complex topics simply.
- We require excellent attention to detail.
- We require customer service skills.
- We require experience managing third parties and MSPs to a high level of delivery.
- We require the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-moving operational environment.
- We require the ability to balance hands-on technical work with strategic improvement initiatives.
- We require strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- We require commercial awareness and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- We provide 1st, 2nd and occasional 3rd line support across the organisation.
- We act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and major incidents.
- We support business continuity and resilience planning for critical IT systems.
- We proactively identify opportunities to improve IT systems, processes and user experience.
- We review existing workflows and recommend efficiencies through automation and better use of technology.
- We advise departmental managers on technology solutions to support operational requirements.
- We support cyber security initiatives including patching, access management and staff awareness.
- We assist with management of Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint and Intune where appropriate.
- We maintain asset registers and support hardware lifecycle planning.
- We produce and maintain technical documentation, user guides and process maps.
- We deputise for the Head of IT where required.
- We support procurement decisions and provide technical input into supplier selection and contract renewals.
- We assist with budgeting and planning for future IT investment.
