What does a Senior New Business Manager do at WPP Production?
The role
The Senior New Business Manager plays a critical role in driving growth for WPP Production, leading complex, high-value opportunities end-to-end and shaping how we respond to and win new business.
This is a strategic and creative role, responsible for defining the narrative, positioning and overall solution behind each pitch. You will take ownership of how we translate client challenges into clear, differentiated and commercially compelling responses.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across WPP Production and the wider WPP network, you will lead the development of integrated proposals — bringing together strategy, operations, creative and production into a single, cohesive story.
You will also help shape the strategic approach for each opportunity, ensuring the structure, messaging and positioning reflect WPP Production’s proposition and competitive advantage. You will balance creative thinking with commercial understanding — clearly articulating how our operating models work, why they are effective, and the value they deliver for clients.

Key areas of responsibility
- Lead and own high-value opportunities end-to-end, from initial brief through to submission and presentation
- Define the pitch narrative, positioning and “red thread”, ensuring a clear, compelling & cohesive story throughout
- Design and articulate client solutions, including operating models and value propositions, clearly demonstrating how they work and the value they deliver
- Translate complex inputs into clear, structured and persuasive client-facing responses
- Lead the development of high impact written content, including pitch decks, RFI/RFP responses and presentations, owning the narrative across all content
- Present and support client-facing sessions, including credentials presentations and pitch meetings
- Lead and align senior stakeholders around a single, cohesive response
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across WPP Production, WPP OpCos and partners, enabling effective collaboration across opportunities
- Ensure all outputs are strategically strong, consistent and clearly differentiated
- Collaborate across WPP agencies on integrated, multi-disciplinary opportunities
- Contribute to and help shape commercial strategy, including pricing narrative and value framing
- Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to ensure WPP Production’s positioning remains competitive
- Identify opportunities to improve & drive innovation in how we approach, structure and deliver pitches
- Mentor and support New Business Managers and Executives, raising standards across the team
What good looks like (key requirements)
- 7+ years’ experience in a new business or client growth roles within a creative, production or agency environment
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to shape clear, persuasive narratives from complex inputs
- Strong strategic thinking, able to translate client challenges into structured, compelling solutions and responses
- Proven experience leading complex pitch or proposal processes end-to-end
- Confident communicator, with experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple high-value opportunities and large volumes of content simultaneously
- Strong commercial capability, with experience shaping proposals and contributing to pricing approach, value framing and commercial models
- Proactive and solutions-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and a drive to identify opportunities and deliver outcomes
- Collaborative in approach, able to bring together multiple stakeholders and disciplines into a single aligned response
- Strong understanding of the advertising production landscape and broader marketing ecosystem
- Curious and engaged, with an interest in innovation and the evolving content and production landscape
- Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Word and Excel, with a good eye for structure and presentation
