About the Role
As a Mid Full-Stack Engineer at Kpler, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling the core systems and internal tools that power our product ecosystem. Working across the full software stack, you will construct resilient PHP backend services—including our Stripe-driven payments and subscription billing infrastructure—while crafting responsive, user-friendly frontend interfaces with React and TypeScript. Partnering closely with Product, Finance, Revenue Operations, and CRM teams, your work will directly optimize operational workflows and elevate the experience of our global users.

Architect backend services: Build and maintain high-performing backend services in PHP with clean domain boundaries, specifically managing billing and application management systems.

Craft responsive frontend user experiences: Design and implement polished, accessible user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and Node.js.

Ensure production reliability & test coverage: Safeguard core functionality by writing comprehensive end-to-end (E2E) automated tests and implementing robust logging, retries, and failure recovery.

Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Finance, CRM, Revenue Operations, and Support teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Drive continuous improvement: Proactively challenge the status quo to elevate code quality, modernize legacy codebase components, and explore new engineering tools and frameworks.

Maintain system health & observability: Debug and troubleshoot issues in production environments, managing relational database schemas (SQL) and Git/CI/CD workflows.

What you'll need (Must-haves)

Backend development depth: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong proficiency in backend PHP development and working with large-scale production codebases.

Database & API design skills: Solid grasp of SQL and relational databases, alongside hands-on experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs and system-to-system integrations.

Modern frontend stack: Practical experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks such as React.

Engineering & DevOps foundations: Familiarity with modern software development practices (Git, code reviews, automated testing) and DevOps tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Academic foundation & communication: BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, paired with excellent written and spoken English.

Cloud infrastructure: Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Subscription & billing platforms: Exposure to payment gateways (e.g., Stripe) and subscription lifecycle management.

Legacy modernization & data scale: Prior experience refactoring legacy systems or handling high-volume, data-intensive applications.
