Workday HCM Lead

Salary: £60,000 - 60,000 per year

Requirements:

• Significant experience in a senior Workday HCM configuration, implementation, or support role.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end HR processes within large, complex, enterprise-level organizations.
• Proven experience providing technical leadership, assurance, or governance within SaaS/ERP environments.
• Exceptional ability to gather complex business requirements and translate them into robust functional designs.
• Natural stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels and coach and mentor junior team members.
• Experience working within structured delivery environments such as Agile, SAFe, or hybrid.
• Ability to obtain SC security clearance and meet pre-employment checks.
• Right to live and work in the UK at the time of application.
• Desirable: Experience within a government, public sector, or shared services environment.
• Desirable: Exposure to Workday Payroll, integrations, reporting, or analytics.
• Desirable: Experience with legacy ERP migrations such as Oracle EBS or Fusion.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the senior expert across Core HCM, Organizations, Staffing Models, Job Architecture, and the Business Process Framework.
• Provide technical assurance and peer reviews of configurations delivered by internal colleagues, system integrators, and third-party suppliers.
• Oversee ticket queue management, enforce SLA and KPI frameworks, and drive continuous improvement to reduce incident volumes.
• Lead complex requirements-gathering sessions and translate business needs into clear functional designs.
• Provide day-to-day technical supervision, coaching, and mentoring to junior analysts and contractors, supporting succession planning.
• Oversee enhancements, bi-annual Workday releases, and regulatory changes with a focus on compliance and auditability.
• Support a complex, large-scale government shared services environment as part of a multi-disciplinary delivery team.
