Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 17 October 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") set out the legal agreement between you and Clever CV for your use of our website, apps and services. Please read them carefully. By creating an account, using our services or buying a subscription you agree to these Terms, together with our Subscription Terms, Refund Policy, Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Clever CV ("we", "us", "our") operates the website www.clever.cv and the Clever CV apps and services.

Clever CV is a trading name of TSN International LTD.

You can contact us, including for technical support, by email at [email protected].

2. Key words in these Terms

  • "Services" means the Clever CV website, apps, CV and resume builder, templates, cover letter tools, AI features, job search tools, interview preparation and any related features we provide.
  • "Account" means the account you create to use the Services.
  • "Subscription" means a paid plan that gives you access to paid features, as described in our Subscription Terms.
  • "Your Content" means the information, text, documents and files you add to the Services, including your CV.
  • "Consumer" means an individual acting for purposes wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft or profession.

3. Using the Services and your Account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an Account, and at least 18 years old to buy a Subscription.
  • You must give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity on your Account. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it.
  • Accounts are personal to you and may not be shared, sold or transferred.
  • The Services are provided for your personal, non-commercial use in looking for work, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

4. The Services

We provide online tools to create, edit, store, score and download CVs, resumes and cover letters, and related career tools. Some features are free; others require a Subscription. What each plan includes is shown on our Pricing page and at checkout.

We may update and change the Services from time to time, for example to reflect changes in technology, user needs or the law. If a change would significantly and negatively affect a paid feature you rely on, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel your Subscription and receive a refund for any period you have paid for but will not receive.

Some features use artificial intelligence (AI). AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for checking anything the Services produce before you use it, and for making sure your CV and applications are truthful.

5. Subscriptions and payment

Paid Subscriptions are governed by our Subscription Terms, which form part of these Terms. In summary:

  • Before you pay, you must tick the box confirming that you have read and agree to these Terms, the Subscription Terms and the Refund Policy.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
  • Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
  • You can cancel at any time from your Account profile page, or by emailing [email protected].

6. Cancellation rights and refunds

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on Subscription payments. Full details, including how your statutory cancellation rights apply to digital content, are in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

7. Your legal rights as a Consumer

If you are a Consumer, you have legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Digital content we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and services must be provided with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights. For more information about your rights, contact Citizens Advice (www.citizensadvice.org.uk) or Trading Standards.

8. Acceptable use

You must not use the Services to:

  • create false, misleading or fraudulent documents, or impersonate anyone else;
  • break any law or regulation, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • upload viruses, malicious code or harmful content;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to the Services, other accounts or our systems, or interfere with how the Services work;
  • scrape, copy or extract data from the Services by automated means, except where the law allows;
  • resell, sublicense or commercially exploit the Services without our written permission;
  • harass, abuse or harm anyone.

9. Your Content and our intellectual property

You own Your Content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to provide the Services to you and to keep them secure. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your Account, except for copies we must keep by law or in routine backups for a limited time.

You confirm that you have the right to use Your Content and that it does not break these Terms.

We and our licensors own all intellectual property rights in the Services, including the software, designs, templates, text and logos. You may use our templates to create documents for your own job search. You may not copy, redistribute, sell or sublicense the templates or any other part of the Services.

10. Availability of the Services

We aim to keep the Services available at all times, but we cannot promise they will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need to suspend them for maintenance, security or reasons outside our control. We will try to give notice of planned downtime and restore the Services as soon as reasonably possible.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. If such an event is likely to last more than 30 days, you may cancel your Subscription and receive a refund for any period you have paid for but will not receive.

11. Our responsibility for loss or damage

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breach of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or of our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if both of us knew it might happen when the contract was made.

If defective digital content we supply damages a device or digital content belonging to you, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation, unless the damage was caused by your failure to follow our instructions or to install free updates we provided.

The Services are for domestic and private use. We are not liable to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.

We help you prepare job applications, but we cannot guarantee that you will get an interview or a job. Hiring decisions are made by employers. Job listings shown through the Services may come from third parties, and we are not responsible for their accuracy or for the conduct of employers.

12. Suspending or ending your Account

You can stop using the Services and ask us to delete your Account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Deleting your Account does not by itself entitle you to a refund, except as set out in our Refund Policy.

We may suspend or close your Account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we must do so by law, or if we reasonably suspect fraud. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close your Account without fault on your part, we will refund any Subscription fees for the period you have paid for but will not receive.

Before your Account is closed, you may ask us for a copy of Your Content. We may delete Your Content 30 days after your Account is closed.

13. Your personal data

We use your personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, as explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy.

14. Reporting problems and complaints

All issues, including any problem during the subscription or payment process, must be reported by email to [email protected]. Please include your account email address, the plan concerned, the date and time of the problem, and a description or screenshot. If you were charged, include your Stripe receipt number if you have it.

We will confirm that we have received your email and deal with the issue. We aim to reply within 2 working days and to resolve most issues within 14 days. If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact Citizens Advice or bring a claim in the courts described in section 17.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms to reflect changes in the law, our Services or how we run our business. We will give you at least 30 days' notice of any material change by email or through the Services. If you do not agree to the change you may cancel your Subscription before it takes effect, and we will refund any period you have paid for but will not receive. The version of these Terms that applies to a purchase is the one you agreed to at checkout.

16. Other important terms

  • We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation. We will tell you if this happens and make sure the transfer does not reduce your rights.
  • You may only transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms to another person if we agree in writing.
  • These Terms are between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
  • If a court finds part of these Terms unlawful, the rest will continue in force.
  • If we delay in enforcing these Terms, we can still enforce them later.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the law of England and Wales.

You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, you can also bring proceedings in Scotland; if you live in Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland. If you are a Consumer living outside the United Kingdom, you also keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live.
