Staff Software Engineer, Agentic Platform

Salary: £56,000 - 71,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong backend or platform engineering experience in production environments
• Good judgment across APIs, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and service design
• Experience integrating internal and third-party platforms
• Ability to work with ambiguity and turn emerging needs into robust platform components
• Strong focus on quality, reliability, and developer usability
• Experience with AI infrastructure or orchestration is helpful but not essential
• Experience in highly regulated industries, such as fintech or healthtech, is valuable but not essential
• Familiarity with Java, Spring Boot, and JOOQ is useful; we also welcome experience with any strongly typed general-purpose programming language

Responsibilities:

• Build core services for our agentic platform, including APIs, workflow orchestration, and tool integration
• Integrate purchased components where they accelerate delivery, and build components where control, trust, and reuse matter most
• Work with product, data, platform, and security teams to productionize shared AI capabilities
• Design reliable, secure, observable services that are easy for other teams to adopt
• Shape reusable engineering patterns for AI-enabled workflows
• Design and build automated evaluation pipelines to measure agent reasoning accuracy and safety trajectories
