Senior Analytics Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £40,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements:- Senior analytics engineering experience: 5+ years as an Analytics Engineer or in a similar role
- Expert SQL skills: able to write fluently, debug quickly, and critically review SQL, including AI-generated code
- Proven data modelling ownership: dimensional modelling, defining grain, and shaping data domains for warehousing and BI
- Hands-on platform experience with dbt and modern platforms such as Snowflake, Looker, AWS, or GCP
- Sound engineering practices around Git, with Python experience being an advantage
- Track record of raising the technical standard through mentoring, reviewing, or setting technical direction
- Commercial acumen to connect data work to business outcomes
- AI-first mindset: curious, willing to experiment quickly, and able to learn fast through daily AI use
- Own the design of robust, scalable data models and exposures in dbt, Snowflake, and Looker
- Define and document architectural decisions and trade-offs that shape our data platform
- Champion the trust infrastructure of testing, data contracts, and observability
- Improve the tooling and practices around AI-assisted development, and critically review the SQL it produces
- Raise the technical bar through code review, mentoring, and pairing
- Turn ambiguous business problems into well-scoped requirements and well-designed metrics
- Work directly with stakeholders and enable self-service in our BI tools
- Own quality, reliability, and stability across models and pipelines
- Support third-party integrations such as Amplitude, Segment, and Google Ads
