Infrastructure Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £40,000 - 40,000 per year
Requirements:- We are looking for candidates with a degree or equivalent training and a passion for solving technical problems.
- We require a minimum of one year of industry experience in relevant technical work.
- We require experience with Windows Server 2016+ administration.
- We require experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter or VCF, and Azure or Microsoft 365 administration.
- We require experience with Linux environments such as CentOS, Red Hat or Ubuntu.
- We require PowerShell skills.
- We require experience with EUD provisioning, including Autopilot, maintenance, patching and hardening.
- We require an understanding of SSO concepts and operation.
- We require experience working in protectively marked environments.
- Desirable: Kubernetes administration, such as VMware TKGI DevSec.
- Desirable: Ops tooling such as Elastic and Nessus.
- Desirable: Application packaging experience.
- Desirable: Experience with HashiCorp tools, Terraform and Vault.
- Desirable: Experience working in Agile sprints.
- Desirable: SC or DV clearance.
- You must have or be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
- You must be able to commute to Farnborough, Hampshire or relocate before starting.
- You must have work authorisation for the United Kingdom.
- We maintain, improve and secure multi-classification, virtualised, collaboration and development environments.
- We work with IT infrastructure colleagues to improve our Secure by Design capabilities internally and across projects.
- We provide infrastructure support to public cloud SaaS offerings, including Office 365, as well as project-based systems across public, private and hybrid clouds in implementation and support lifecycles.
- We perform maintenance tasks on infrastructure through change control.
- We assist with monitoring and managing project-based ticketing and alerting systems for new changes and security alerts.
- We triage monitoring alerts and take appropriate action.
- We maintain monitoring components in line with infrastructure developments.
- We ensure platforms are patched in line with provider recommendations and our security policy.
- We assess the impact of incidents, initiate return to service, and complete follow-up actions.
- We identify trends and problems and plan changes to improve stability and performance.
- We maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in the design and build of secure public, private and hybrid cloud and network technologies.
- We develop our knowledge through study and research toward vocational certifications in relevant technologies and vendors.
- We advise customers and project teams on infrastructure and support aspects.
- We cascade knowledge through knowledge articles for our team and wider organisation.
