SQL DBA Lead
Job Description
Salary: £56,000 - 96,000 per year
Requirements:- We are well versed in Microsoft SQL Server (2016 onwards)
- We have significant experience with T-SQL, stored procedures, and triggers
- We have experience with Azure VMs, Windows Server, and Azure DevOps
- We have SSIS experience creating, maintaining, and deploying packages through SQL Server Integration Services
- We have knowledge of Power BI Report Server and can troubleshoot access and performance issues, perform upgrades, and install SSL certificates
- We have basic working knowledge of SCOM and/or Azure Monitor
- We have experience working with ServiceNow or a similar ITIL system
- Powershell is nice to have
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent certification is preferred
- ITIL Foundation certification is preferred
- We administer and maintain MS SQL and MySQL databases, including clustering, replication, backups, and performance tuning
- We provide third-line support and resolve incidents via call management systems
- We perform planned releases, patching, and upgrades across environments
- We monitor and optimise database performance, including space management and alert log checks
- We mentor junior DBAs and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team

We are hiring a SQL DBA Lead to act as a subject matter expert for Azure and on-prem Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL environments. We support enterprise-level database operations across production, UAT, and development environments, with a focus on performance, availability, and security. This is a full-time onsite role based in Manchester, working in our secure room. The role requires BPSS+ SC clearance.
