Service Designer - Contract

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience as a Service Designer within digital transformation or change programmes.
• Strong understanding of user-centred and service design principles.
• Experience creating service blueprints, customer journeys, and process maps.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Public sector experience, including Central Government, Local Government, NHS, or Arms Length Bodies.
• Knowledge of GDS standards and service assessment processes.
• Experience working on citizen-facing digital services.
• Familiarity with tools such as Miro, Mural, Figma, Visio, or Lucidchart.
• Candidates must be eligible for BPSS clearance and may be required to undergo SC clearance depending on client requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Design and improve end-to-end services across digital and non-digital channels.
• Map user journeys and develop service blueprints.
• Facilitate workshops and collaborative design sessions with stakeholders.
• Use user research and service insights to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Work within Agile, multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Ensure services are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with best practice.
• Support projects through Discovery, Alpha, Beta, and Live phases.
