Senior Software Engineering Manager

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience leading embedded software engineering teams.
• A track record of developing high-performing engineers and technical leaders.
• Experience improving software engineering processes, methodologies, and development practices.
• The ability to influence technical direction across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• A passion for building engineering organisations capable of scaling with the business.
• Experience operating as a Head of Software, Software Engineering Manager, Group Engineering Manager, or in a similar leadership role within a technology business.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow the embedded software engineering function as the business scales.
• Build teams and shape engineering culture.
• Improve development practices, software engineering processes, and methodologies.
• Create an environment where talented engineers can do their best work.
• Work alongside technical leaders across Software, FPGA, Systems, and Algorithm Engineering.
• Guide the evolution of the software function.
• Develop Team Leaders and help mature the engineering organisation.
• Influence engineering methodology and technical direction across the business.
• Leave a lasting positive mark on the organisations engineering capability.

We are a growing technology business developing advanced wireless communications technology. Our software engineering function is expected to grow rapidly over the next 12 months, driven by several significant commercial opportunities on the horizon. This role is based in Southampton and offers a hybrid working arrangement of around 2 to 3 days per week in the office. We offer a circa £115,000 basic salary, plus a 20% bonus, equity, PMI, life cover, and pension, and this is a genuine opportunity to help shape the future of our engineering organisation as we scale.
