Senior Python Developer - AI

Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• SC eligibility and full right to work in the UK are required; no sponsorship is available.
• We are looking for hands-on Senior Python Developers with experience building software and a practical understanding of Generative AI, LLMs and RAG.
• Strong commercial Python development experience.
• Proven leadership and mentoring experience is required for Senior Consultant level.
• Experience building APIs, microservices and backend applications.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI and RAG.
• Experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or CrewAI.
• Experience with vector databases and semantic search.
• Experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Llama or similar models.
• Good software engineering, testing and Git practices.
• Experience with AWS or Azure, Docker and ideally Kubernetes.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB or similar databases.
• Experience with CI/CD using GitHub, GitLab or Jenkins.
• Agile engineering experience.
• Experience with AI agents, tool calling, embeddings, prompt engineering or LLM observability is beneficial.
• React/TypeScript and Terraform/IaC experience is beneficial.
• Experience taking GenAI POCs into production is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities:

• Build production applications and APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Develop LLM, RAG and AI agent solutions.
• Build RAG pipelines covering embeddings, retrieval and generation.
• Work with OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Llama and similar LLMs.
• Use LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI or similar AI frameworks.
• Work with vector databases including Pinecone, Qdrant, ChromaDB and PGVector.
• Take GenAI POCs into production and scale them.
• Build APIs, microservices and AI integrations.
• Deploy solutions using AWS/Azure, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Write clean, testable and maintainable Python code.
• Work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Git and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects and client stakeholders.

We are offering a permanent Senior Python Developer - GenAI role with a salary of £60,000 - £70,000 plus benefits, perks and healthcare options. The role is available in London, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow or Newcastle and follows a hybrid working model with 2 days per week onsite, plus occasional travel to client sites. We focus on real-world AI engineering projects, combining strong Python software development with modern GenAI technologies. This is a coding-focused role for engineers who enjoy building real solutions, developing AI applications and solving technical problems while working with the latest LLM and RAG technologies. You will also have the opportunity to work directly with enterprise clients and develop your experience across both software engineering and Generative AI.
