SAP Developer

Salary: £61,000 - 101,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced IT professional with ERP ABAP development experience.
• We require good SAP R3 and ABAP programming experience.
• We need general knowledge of a wide range of IT technologies and activities, with specific knowledge of one or more technology fields.
• We require experience using formal systems delivery methodologies.
• We need experience delivering and supporting business-critical application packages within a large organisation.
• It would be advantageous to have knowledge and operational experience in the manufacturing and/or defence industry.
• It would be advantageous to have experience with CPS job scheduler (SAP Business Process Automation by Redwood).
• It would be advantageous to have in-depth knowledge of required languages, applications, databases, or technologies.
• We value an understanding of IT and systems engineering disciplines, including requirements management, configuration management, change control, reliability analysis, and quality management.
• We need good written and oral communication skills.
• We are looking for a team player who is logical, analytical, innovative, customer focused, flexible, disciplined, organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• We work with functional and business teams to deliver business systems that meet business requirements.
• We work closely with staff and functional users to ensure systems and changes are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
• We work directly with the functional and business user community on bug fixes, requests for service, approved changes to current systems, and new applications.
• We ensure the ongoing availability of our systems solutions and work to improve system productivity.
• We provide system support in response to business needs within published service levels.
• We respond to and resolve break fixes and execute preventative maintenance solutions.
• We provide out-of-hours support as agreed with the functional area.
• We carry out business analysis and requirements capture using our understanding of the business domain and processes.
• We perform systems analysis, programming, testing, data analysis, design, system implementation, training, support, problem resolution, and documentation.
• We analyse, design, code, test, implement, document, and support development and enhancements to our applications and interfaces.
• We monitor helpdesk and change control systems for incoming work.
• We update configuration and change management tools and ensure system maps reflect changes to the application portfolio.
• We work with vendors to deliver requirements and resolve issues.
• We may make occasional visits to other sites and customer or partner organisations.
