Lead Backend Engineer

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require a minimum 2.1 BSc in Computer Science or a similar technical discipline from a top-tier or Russell Group university, backed by A-level grades of A or equivalent.
• We require strong software engineering experience across a range of technologies such as C#, .NET, Python, TypeScript, C++, Rust, RESTful APIs, Vue.js, React, PostgreSQL, CI/CD, cloud platforms, and DevOps.
• We require advanced communication and client relationship-building skills gained in a consultancy environment.
• We require strong business acumen.
• We require a solid understanding of modern software engineering best practices across the full software development lifecycle.
• We require a thorough understanding of computer science fundamentals, including OOP, data structures, design patterns, and algorithms.
• We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating, problem solving, and working in a role they can shape and influence.

Responsibilities:

• We design and implement the logic behind core applications.
• We build APIs and microservices that handle data processing, business rules, and third-party integrations.
• We oversee the configuration and upkeep of secure, reliable server environments.
• We work with a range of programming languages and technologies depending on the client environment.
• We gather detailed requirements through meetings and workshops with internal teams and customers.
• We help shape the product vision and roadmap by providing technical insight and feasibility guidance.
• We remain hands-on with architecture and design.
• We act as a technical leader by instilling best practices, conducting code reviews, and mentoring the team.
• We collaborate to solve problems, remove blockers, and deliver high-quality software.
