Junior / Graduate Deployment Engineer

Salary: £27,000 - 30,000 per year

Requirements:

• A graduate in Computing, IT or a related subject, or someone a couple of years into a 1st/2nd line support, IT technician or similar role.
• Some hands-on experience with Linux, whether at work, at university or on personal projects.
• Good working knowledge of Windows.
• A methodical approach: you follow instructions carefully, check your work and document what you did.
• Genuine drive and curiosity, with the ability to teach yourself new things and want to progress.
• Good communication skills, including the ability to explain a problem clearly.
• Nice to have: exposure to Docker, networking or the command line.
• Nice to have: the ability to read and follow Python code.
• Nice to have: home lab projects, certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft or AWS, or other evidence of going the extra mile.

Responsibilities:

• Install and configure our product on Linux servers and Windows PCs.
• Test each installation end to end to make sure everything works before handover.
• Keep an eye on live systems and spot when something is not right.
• Troubleshoot common issues and escalate trickier problems to the development team with clear notes.
• Help improve the installation guides based on what you learn.
