Data Science Consultant

Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Practical experience in data science, machine learning or AI, gained in defense, security, the public sector, industry or academia
• Hands-on experience using Python or equivalent tools
• Solid understanding of areas such as statistical modelling, supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, transformers, Generative AI or Agentic AI
• Experience with areas such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Hugging Face, cloud platforms, MLOps, computer vision, NLP, geospatial data or multimodal AI is beneficial; experience across every area is not expected
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to different audiences
• Ability to collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Apply data science, machine learning and AI techniques to complex client challenges
• Explore data and develop models, prototypes and AI-enabled solutions
• Support the development and evaluation of solutions through to deployment and operational use
• Investigate and apply emerging technologies such as Generative AI and Agentic AI
• Produce clear technical analysis, reports and presentations
• Work alongside engineers, analysts, delivery specialists and client stakeholders
• Help clients understand the opportunities, limitations and risks associated with AI
• Contribute to new propositions, bids and future client opportunities
• Support knowledge sharing, mentoring and development within the wider team
