Technical Support Specialist

Salary: £40,000 - 71,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require a minimum of 4+ years of experience in deskside, OSS, or FSO technical support.
• We require strong Windows 10 and 11 OS build and support experience, including legacy versions where applicable.
• We require excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and/or the local language.
• We require strong customer service skills and the ability to work professionally with users, customers, and colleagues.
• We require the ability to troubleshoot end-user devices, including hardware, operating systems, drivers, and client applications.
• We require experience with OS imaging and reimaging, software installation, and systems administration activities.
• We require experience supporting desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, printers, MFDs, cabling, and basic network connectivity.
• We require experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, ServiceNow, Google applications, and other common business applications.
• We require administration experience with Azure, Intune, and Active Directory users, groups, policies, and management concepts.
• We require the ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and meet SLAs.
• We require the ability to support remote locations and travel when needed.
• We require current technical certifications relevant to the role and the ability to stay up to date with technology changes.

Responsibilities:

• We provide deskside, OSS, and FSO technical support for desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desk telephony, AV equipment, comms room devices, and related technologies.
• We diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, document, and resolve end-user technical issues, including hardware, software, cabling, and basic network connectivity.
• We support installation, specification, testing, imaging, and reimaging of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines.
• We manage customer tickets, prioritize requests, provide timely updates, and take ownership through to resolution.
• We deliver 2nd line IT support to the business and maintain service levels and SLAs.
• We provide on-site cover as part of a shift arrangement and support remote offices when required.
• We perform infrastructure administration functions and associated systems administration activities.
• We carry out device health monitoring, reporting, remediation, routine technology health checks, and asset inventory activities.
• We support mobile devices, virtual desktop activities, VIP and executive users, and technical video conferencing equipment.
• We provide end-user guidance and training on hardware and software use.
• We move equipment in line with health and safety guidelines and perform other duties as assigned.

We are offering a fully onsite contract role for an FSO Technician based in Reading, RG1 3JH, UK, with a duration of 6 months and a five-day working week. This is a hands-on role within a digital-first, AI-enabled support environment, where we provide proactive and reactive onsite and field IT services, smart hands support, event support, legacy technology support, and onsite operations across customer locations and nearby offices. We are looking for someone who can deliver high levels of customer satisfaction, work independently, and contribute to a flexible team environment supporting business users and technology operations.
