Senior C++ Developer with Python and Airline Ops Platform

Salary: £40,000 - 46,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong proficiency in C++ including STL, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and multithreading
• Strong development experience in Python
• Experience with Airline Operations Platform solutions
• Experience in Linux/Unix environments
• Knowledge of REST APIs, web services, and system integrations
• Experience with SQL databases
• Hands-on experience with Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills
• Experience in the airline or travel domain
• Understanding of airline operations such as flight operations, crew management, airport operations, flight planning, disruption management, and schedule and resource management
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies
• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or equivalent
• Nice to have: knowledge of messaging systems and event-driven architecture
• Nice to have: experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications using C++ and Python
• Work on Airline Operations Platform modules and operational systems
• Develop and optimize high-performance backend services and APIs
• Integrate airline operational systems with internal and third-party applications
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system stability
• Perform code reviews and enforce development best practices
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, product owners, and operations teams
• Support CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment activities
• Prepare technical documentation and knowledge transfer materials
