Systems Engineer, Cryptography, Access and Identity Services

Salary: £44,000 - 72,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need experience in site reliability engineering, systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration.
• We need experience working with Linux.
• We need experience in systems engineering.
• We need experience in at least one of the following: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell, or equivalent.
• We prefer knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols such as HTTP and DNS.
• We prefer experience designing and developing scripts to automate operational burdens and reviewing scripting changes for maintainability, scalability, and security.
• We prefer experience working in a 24/7 production environment.
• We prefer experience with service-oriented architecture and web services.

Responsibilities:

• We build and operate services for our customers in a large-scale, high-availability environment.
• We automate service operations and deployment methods.
• We provide mentoring for junior team members.
• We build and operate critical cryptography, access, and identity services.
• We troubleshoot Linux issues, innovate fixes and workarounds, and keep software up to date.
• We provide data and metrics to help manage the capacity and efficiency of our services.
• We identify and troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
• We build solutions to reduce manual toil across our organization.
• We develop, build, deploy, operate, sustain, and grow our services in cloud production environments.
• We use trends and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• We help develop and refine procedures used by our team and internal customers.
• We dive deep into root-cause analysis for customer issues and investigate negative metric trends.
• We implement operational excellence best practices and automate manual processes.
