Salary: £46,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require proven experience as a QA Lead or Test Lead in games development.
  • Were looking for a strong grasp of build validation and defect lifecycle management.
  • We require experience writing test plans and QA reports.
  • We require people-management experience, including 1:1s, reviews, improvement plans, or similar.
  • Were looking for a confident communicator who can represent QA to developers, leadership, and publishers.
  • We require proficiency with bug-tracking and documentation tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • We require a high degree of flexibility and strong organisational skills.
  • Were looking for a passion for games and their development.
  • We require in-depth knowledge of console and PC hardware and software, development tools, and technical games development.
  • Were looking for the ability to problem-solve, horizon-scan, research, and develop ways to continually improve testing accuracy, coverage, and quality.
  • We require proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Desirable: working knowledge of console certification and submission processes, including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, mobile, and handheld platforms.
  • Desirable: experience managing outsourced or external QA vendors.
  • Desirable: familiarity with Perforce or similar version-control tools.
  • Desirable: experience shipping at least one full title through all stages of development.
Responsibilities:
  • We expect our QA Lead to own the projects test strategy at every stage of development, from feature specifications through milestone and submission testing.
  • We expect our QA Lead to lead build validation, including BVT, Smoke, and LKG, and ensure results are triaged, reported, and acted on.
  • We expect our QA Lead to take a hands-on approach to testing and evaluate the projects quality throughout development.
  • We expect our QA Lead to manage the full defect lifecycle, including creation, validation, ongoing tracking, and representing QA in bug triage.
  • We expect our QA Lead to build, maintain, and evolve test plans and test environments across internal, external, and publisher QA channels.
  • We expect our QA Lead to produce regular QA reports for the team and project leadership.
  • We expect our QA Lead to own the QA risk register and contribute to the wider project risk register.
  • We expect our QA Lead to lead, coach, and develop the QA team through 1:1s, reviews, career progression, and performance management.
  • We expect our QA Lead to mentor junior testers and oversee their onboarding into the discipline.
  • We expect our QA Lead to help coordinate outsourced QA resources and liaise with publisher QA.
  • We expect our QA Lead to represent QA in agile practices, including planning, retrospectives, and leadership build reviews.
  • We expect our QA Lead to maintain QA documentation and contribute to future project proposals.
  • We expect our QA Lead to communicate across the QA team hierarchy and represent the project and QA discipline.
