Salary: £45,000 - 62,000 per year

Requirements:

• Degree or PhD in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Strong research background in power electronics and converter technologies
• Experience with AC/DC, DC/DC, or DC/AC converter systems
• Research experience involving AI, machine learning, data-driven modelling, or optimisation
• Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB, PLECS, or Ansys
• Suitable for final-year PhD candidates, recent PhD graduates, Postdoctoral Researchers, and Research Fellows

Responsibilities:

• Research and develop AI and machine-learning approaches for power electronics applications
• Design, model, and simulate power electronic converter systems
• Investigate how AI and machine learning can optimise converter design and performance
• Develop models, algorithms, or tools to support the power electronics design process
• Research emerging technologies and contribute to technical reports and research outputs
• Support the transition of research concepts into practical engineering applications
• Work with experienced engineers and researchers to apply academic research to practical engineering
