Principal Data Scientist

Salary: £57,000 - 97,000 per year

Requirements:

• We bring extensive experience in academia, industry, or both, and can demonstrate technical ability, creativity, and flexibility as thought leaders in this space.
• We have prior experience working in or for financial services clients, with strong examples of delivering distinctive applications that have driven commercial impact.
• We have broad knowledge across machine learning techniques, including experience building Generative AI and agentic AI applications with Large Language Models.
• We have advanced coding skills in Python and proven experience building and maintaining scalable codebases.
• We enjoy mentoring junior colleagues and have prior direct management experience.
• We are highly proficient in strategic problem-solving and communicating solutions to non-technical audiences.
• We can select appropriate solutions and balance innovation with practical implementation.

Responsibilities:

• We serve as a technical authority on machine learning, Generative AI, and other advanced data science methods to deliver innovative and impactful solutions.
• We lead the development of shared resources, frameworks, and best practices adopted across teams and the company.
• We contribute to scoping and bid processes for large-scale, high-stakes projects and influence client decisions with technical expertise.
• We own a portfolio of work within a specific sector and apply expert knowledge to deliver exceptional value to clients.
• We lead and mentor project teams and direct reports to ensure the successful delivery of high-value and complex projects.
• We act as thought leaders by publishing papers and presenting at industry and scientific conferences to amplify our AI vision for clients.
