Lead Data Analyst

Salary: £28,000 - 51,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with a passion for data-driven decision making
• Confidence engaging and influencing senior customers on both business and technical subjects
• Ability to lead and facilitate workshops
• Experience of contributing to bid responses and case studies
• Ability to identify opportunities for insight within business functions
• Experience using and configuring data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Google Analytics
• Ability to review and comment on data models
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead client projects and establish requirements in non-technical language
• Experience managing, coaching, and developing junior members of a team and wider community

Responsibilities:

• Match data insight needs with the available data
• Work closely with customers to produce insight products including reports, dashboards, and visualisations
• Contribute to understanding existing data structures so inputs and outputs are fully understood
• Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather requirements and achieve a joint understanding of data and insight needs
• Identify, gather, and analyse data
• Recommend data visualisation and dashboard developments to support informed decision making
• Extract insight from data across the analytical spectrum, including descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analysis
• Help senior stakeholders understand and meet operational and strategic data insight targets
• Work as part of a delivery team to support insight generation from digital services
• Advise customers and managers on the estimated effort and technical implications of visualisations and dashboards
• Make a significant contribution to the data analysis community and wider data and analytics capability
• Manage, coach, and develop a small number of staff, with a focus on employee performance and career development
• Provide direction and leadership for the team as challenging problems are solved together
