Senior PHP / Laravel Developer

Salary: £47,000 - 55,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong commercial PHP development experience
• Hands-on Laravel experience
• Experience with REST APIs, API integrations and third-party services
• MySQL and relational database knowledge
• Understanding of performance optimisation for applications and databases
• Experience with PHPUnit and automated testing
• Familiarity with Git/GitHub, clean code and modern software engineering practices
• Experience with Vue.js, TypeScript and JavaScript
• Understanding of software engineering principles including maintainability, testing, scalability, security and performance
• Experience in a SaaS, product-led or software development environment would be particularly relevant
• Experience with AWS, Docker and CI/CD is useful
• Experience with Node.js, cloud-native development or AI-assisted development tools would also be useful

Responsibilities:

• Design, build and improve scalable, secure SaaS applications using PHP and Laravel
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, third-party services and backend functionality
• Work extensively with MySQL and relational databases, including performance optimisation
• Contribute to product functionality across Vue.js, JavaScript and TypeScript
• Work closely with Product Owners, Designers and other Software Engineers to deliver features from requirements through development, testing and release
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested PHP code
• Contribute to technical discussions around software architecture, application security, performance, scalability and engineering standards
