Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of relevant automotive embedded-system testing experience, including meaningful exposure to infotainment validation.
  • Bachelors degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with automotive networks, diagnostics and at least one primary validation tool.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for defect reporting, technical reviews, stakeholder updates and customer-facing onsite communication in the UK.
  • Hands-on automotive infotainment system validation and understanding of end-to-end feature behaviour.
  • Working knowledge of CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, UDS and DoIP.
  • Hands-on use of Vector CANoe and/or CANalyzer; familiarity with CANape, Wireshark or Vehicle Spy is advantageous.
  • Experience with ECU communication analysis, diagnostics, log analysis, feature configuration and software integration validation.
  • Experience with JIRA and a requirement/test-management tool such as Jama or DOORS; working knowledge of Confluence.
  • Basic understanding of XML/ARXML and automotive software or network configuration data.
  • Ability to create clear test cases, execute negative and boundary scenarios, and produce objective test evidence.
Responsibilities:
  • Execute automotive infotainment validation across onsite UK customer environments, vehicle, rig, bench, HIL and offshore-supported test environments.
  • Independently analyse requirements, prepare and execute test cases, investigate failures, collect diagnostic evidence and support defect closure.
  • Work closely with system, software, HMI, audio and integration teams to deliver reliable feature and regression validation for production-intent software releases.
  • Act as an onsite engineering interface for assigned validation activities, supporting customer discussions, clarification of priorities, issue reproduction and structured handover to offshore teams.
  • Analyse requirements and create traceable test cases for HMI, Audio, Navigation, Connectivity, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Cameras, Diagnostics and Vehicle Settings.
  • Execute smoke, sanity, feature, integration and regression testing on assigned infotainment functions.
  • Perform validation on onsite UK customer rigs, benches, HIL, vehicles and approved offshore supported setups following approved test procedures and configuration baselines.
  • Prepare test data, configure ECUs and test environments, execute software flashing or feature configuration as required, and maintain test evidence.
  • Monitor CAN, CAN FD, LIN and Ethernet communication; execute UDS/DoIP diagnostics and analyse ECU responses.
  • Capture and correlate CANoe/CANalyzer traces, Wireshark captures, application logs and diagnostic data to support issue investigation.
  • Raise high-quality defects with reproducible steps, expected and actual behaviour, build/configuration details, logs, frequency and impact.
  • Support defect triage, failure reproduction, fix verification and focused regression until closure.
  • Maintain requirement-to-test traceability and update execution status, evidence and defects in JIRA and Jama/DOORS or equivalent tools.
  • Contribute to test automation, reusable scripts, test utilities and regression-efficiency improvements under technical guidance.
  • Participate in daily reviews, technical discussions, customer-facing onsite updates and release readiness reporting; escalate blockers and quality risks promptly.
  • Support junior team members through peer reviews and knowledge sharing as experience permits.
  • Maintain investigation records, test evidence and ticket status updates throughout execution.
  • Ensure defects, test results and evidence can be clearly understood by reviewers and downstream engineers.
  • Support onsite UK validation activities including customer access readiness, vehicle or rig availability, setup verification, logging, test execution, evidence generation and coordination with offshore teams.
  • Report blockers immediately when access, tooling, software, requirements, test conditions or onsite customer/vehicle availability prevent progress.
