AI Engineer

Salary: £50,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience delivering AI, automation or machine learning solutions in a commercial environment.
• A strong understanding of cloud-based engineering principles, including scalability, resilience, security and maintainability.
• Hands-on experience, or a strong interest, in Microsoft AI technologies such as AI Foundry, Agent Framework, Azure Machine Learning, vector search and RAG architectures.
• Knowledge of responsible AI practices, observability, evaluation frameworks and human-in-the-loop design patterns.
• The ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify opportunities and demonstrate business value.
• A curious mindset, a desire to learn, and the confidence to challenge conventional thinking.
• A passion for building high-quality solutions that improve experiences for colleagues and customers alike.

Responsibilities:

• Building AI-powered solutions that solve real business challenges and deliver measurable value.
• Developing intelligent automations using the latest Microsoft AI technologies, including AI Foundry, Agent Framework and Microsoft IQ.
• Designing and implementing multi-agent workflows, including human-in-the-loop patterns and agentic orchestration.
• Creating robust RAG solutions using vector databases, Foundry IQ and agentic retrieval techniques.
• Developing predictive machine learning models with Azure Machine Learning to support forecasting, operational performance and decision-making.
• Ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, observable and aligned with responsible AI principles.
• Collaborating with business stakeholders, analysts and engineering teams to identify opportunities where AI can make the biggest impact.
• Contributing to architectural decisions, technical design discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Researching emerging AI technologies and helping shape the future direction of our AI capability.
