Equities Technology Low Latency Developer – Java or C++

Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year

Requirements:

• Significant working knowledge of Java or C++
• Ability to work to tight deadlines as part of a team
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot real-world issues with floor traders, production support, and others
• Ability to work effectively within a larger team and communicate appropriately with different audiences
• Good understanding of network protocols, including Multicast and TCP/IP
• Working experience with microservices architecture is a plus
• Knowledge or experience building ultra-low-latency market data platforms is a plus
• Experience with low-latency market data, algorithmic or electronic trading, or the finance industry is beneficial but not essential
• Sound programming practices, including unit testing, code reviews, and agile methodology, are beneficial
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, GIT, and uDeploy is beneficial
• Knowledge of low latency, network concurrency, multicast, server configuration, and 10GB network interfaces such as SolarFlare using OnLoad is useful
• Knowledge of equities products such as stocks, futures, options, and swaps is beneficial
• Knowledge of developing database code and processes in KDB is beneficial

Responsibilities:

• Develop new functionality for our Global Market Data platform
• Design and develop the Global Market Data platform and its system functionality in EMEA
• Implement and enhance new or altered systems
• Support deployed market data systems in conjunction with our Equities Production Support teams
• Support existing Market Data applications and clients
• Coordinate exchange-mandated changes affecting the Global Market Data platform
• Improve application functionality, primarily in response to the Electronic Trading Desk
• Work with the Global Equities business to develop the platform and provide low-latency market data
