Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Java or Kotlin on JVM 11
• Strong experience with Spring Boot
• Experience in enterprise backend development
• Experience building REST APIs and microservices
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with Git and modern development practices
• Comfortable operating at Principal level, making technical decisions and solving complex problems
• Desirable experience in telecommunications billing

Responsibilities:

• Work primarily on backend development in a hands-on Principal role
• Contribute to a large platform with high-throughput APIs, Azure Cloud and an event-driven architecture
• Help shape technical direction, engineering standards and architecture
• Mentor other engineers
• Evaluate new technologies
• Work closely with customers and stakeholders to turn requirements into robust technical solutions

We are a growing business within the telecommunications and online payments space, working on a large, high-throughput platform. We have a 16-person R&D development team made up largely of senior engineers. This is a remote-first role, with an expectation of around 2-3 visits per year to our Newbury office, though you are welcome to spend more time there if you prefer.
