Java / Kotlin Developer
Job Description
Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong experience with Java or Kotlin on JVM 11
- Strong experience with Spring Boot
- Experience in enterprise backend development
- Experience building REST APIs and microservices
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Git and modern development practices
- Comfortable operating at Principal level, making technical decisions and solving complex problems
- Desirable experience in telecommunications billing
- Desirable experience with Azure
- Desirable experience with CI/CD
- Desirable experience with Linux
- Desirable experience with Redis
- Desirable experience with Elasticsearch
- Desirable experience with additional programming languages
- Work primarily on backend development in a hands-on Principal role
- Contribute to a large platform with high-throughput APIs, Azure Cloud and an event-driven architecture
- Help shape technical direction, engineering standards and architecture
- Mentor other engineers
- Evaluate new technologies
- Work closely with customers and stakeholders to turn requirements into robust technical solutions

We are a growing business within the telecommunications and online payments space, working on a large, high-throughput platform. We have a 16-person R&D development team made up largely of senior engineers. This is a remote-first role, with an expectation of around 2-3 visits per year to our Newbury office, though you are welcome to spend more time there if you prefer.
