Site Reliability Engineer, Cryptography, Access and Identity Services

Salary: £44,000 - 72,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration
• Experience working with Linux
• Experience in systems engineering
• Experience in any of the following: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell or equivalent
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols such as HTTP and DNS
• Experience designing and developing scripts to automate operational burdens and reviewing scripting changes to ensure they meet the standards for maintainability, scalability and security
• Experience working in a 24/7 production environment
• Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services

Responsibilities:

• Build and operate services for our customers
• Automate service operations and deployment methods
• Provide mentoring for junior team members
• Troubleshoot, innovate fixes and workarounds, and keep software up to date using Linux skills
• Provide data and metrics that help manage the capacity and efficiency of our services
• Identify and troubleshoot network connectivity issues using networking knowledge
• Develop, build, deploy, operate, sustain, and grow services in cloud production environments
• Use trends and metrics to identify opportunities for improvements
• Help develop and refine procedures used by our team and internal customers
• Dive deep into root cause analysis of customer issues and investigate negative metric trends
• Implement Operational Excellence best practices and automate manual processes to reduce out-of-hours support toil
