Senior Engineer, Payout Network

Salary: £59,000 - 91,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require 7+ years of professional experience building backend systems.
• We require proficiency with Kotlin or Java/JVM.
• We require proficiency with PostgreSQL.
• We require experience with AWS, including S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, and similar services.
• We require experience implementing and managing elaborate integrations with third-party APIs.
• We require experience working on systems with real-world performance and reliability constraints.
• We require experience developing software in a collaborative, multi-functional, and fast-paced environment.
• We require strong communication skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities, set expectations with stakeholders, and drive outcomes.
• Ideally, we also value experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Ideally, we also value experience with SRE or similar infrastructure work.
• Ideally, we also value experience with data engineering concepts and workflows.
• Ideally, we also value high personal code and development standards, including code review, unit testing, and documentation.

Responsibilities:

• We build a unified interface that encapsulates dozens of third-party payment integrations.
• We work on one of the pillar revenue centers of our organization.
• We take ownership of backend system architecture and implementation.
• We build performant and resilient data flows while keeping security in mind at every step.
• We work closely with the product team to regularly ship working features.
• We work in an iterative fashion.
• We evaluate and deliver timeline estimates.
• We collaborate with Product, Operations, Customer Support, Growth, and other functions to design and build a reliable, performant, and secure platform for handling remittances across countries.
• We help scale our backend systems, internal tools, and analytics capabilities as the product grows.
