Requirements:

• We are looking for an experienced ICT Security Analyst.
• We expect broad knowledge to handle technical and business challenges, supported by an understanding of the theoretical basis of the discipline.
• A degree-level education in a relevant field is often required, although this may be replaced by significant on-the-job training and focused experience.
• The role may require manual dexterity for typing and similar functions, or the use of equipment requiring precision.

Responsibilities:

• We protect our systems, data and digital services so the council can operate securely and reliably.
• We set and maintain security policies, standards and guidance.
• We manage cyber risk across council services and help embed security into day-to-day operations, projects and technology change.
• We monitor for threats and weaknesses.
• We investigate incidents and lead response and recovery when issues arise.
• We help strengthen resilience through planning, training, awareness and continual improvement.
• We support compliance with recognised frameworks.
• We work with partners and suppliers to improve secure delivery.
• We help the council adopt modern technologies in a safe, controlled and responsible way.
• We provide practical advice that supports colleagues across the organisation.

We are recruiting an ICT Security Analyst for our ICT service at Milton Keynes City Council on a contract basis in Milton Keynes. Our Security team protects the councils systems, data and digital services, helping us remain resilient, trusted and able to deliver essential services across more than 200 council services. We offer the opportunity to work across a broad range of security activities, supporting incident response, cyber risk management, resilience, compliance and secure technology change.
